The magnetic level gauge model BNA consists of a bypass chamber, which, as a communicating tube, is connected laterally to a vessel via at least 2 process connections (flanged, threaded or welded). Through this type of arrangement of the magnetic level gauge, the level in the bypass chamber corresponds to the level in the vessel. The float with a built-in permanent magnetic system, which is mounted within the bypass chamber, transmits the liquid level, contact-free, to the magnetic display mounted to the outside of the bypass chamber. In this are fitted, at 10 mm intervals, two-coloured plastic rollers or stainless steel flaps with bar magnets.
Through the magnetic field of the permanent magnetic system in the float of the magnetic level gauge, the display elements, through the wall of the bypass chamber, are turned through 180°. For an increasing level from white to red; for a falling level from red to white. Thus the magnetic level gauge clearly displays the level of a vessel without power supply.

For the most demanding measurement tasks
The model LH-20 submersible pressure transmitter has been designed for the most demanding of level measurement tasks. A slender design, highest accuracies, low temperature errors and an adjustable measuring range ensure the suitability of the LH-20 for all submerged level measurements. The model LH-20 submersible pressure transmitter can adapt to countless applications and measuring media through a large number of features and options. Depending on the requirements, this level probe is available with, amongst other things, a titanium case, PUR/PE/FEP cable, 0.1 % accuracy, HART®, scaleability or parallel temperature output signal. For operation in hazardous environments, the model LH-20 submersible pressure transmitter is also available in an intrinsically safe version. For potable and fresh water applications, a potable water conformant product variant is possible in accordance with KTW and ACS.
Hermetically sealed, robust and durable
The model LH-20 submersible pressure transmitter has been engineered for use in the harshest environments. Through a double, redundant sealing concept, it is permanently hermetically sealed. A robust design from stainless steel or titanium, with a spring-reinforced cable seal, ensures a long service life, even under the big mechanical loads of installation and continuous use. Designs with the highest media resistance using FEP cable and titanium cases, along with the integrated lightning protection, guarantee the longevity of the submersible pressure transmitter even under the most adverse environmental influences in aggressive media, in both indoor and outdoor use.
The LH-10 submersible pressure transmitter has been designed for level measurement in contact with the medium in harsh operating conditions. It offers an accuracy of 0.25 % and, with an ingress protection of IP68, is suitable for permanent level measurements up to 300 m water column.
It offers excellent quality, is reliable and, through a multitude of options, can be used in all conventional level measurement applications. For instance, integrated temperature measurement, lightning protection, case from Hastelloy® or FEP cable are available as options.
For the highest accuracy requirements, the optional temperature measurement enables the compensation of temperature fluctuations in the medium on the measuring result.
Robust and reliable
A hermetically-sealed, fully-welded and exceptionally robust stainless steel case ensures a long service life and permanent sealing. Specifically for external applications, integrated lightning protection is available, in order to ensure a maximum operating life in harsh environments. For the highest media resistance, this submersible pressure transmitter is available in an optional design out of Hastelloy® and high-resistance FEP cable.
The RLS-1000 is a robust, reliable and inexpensive float switch. Since the monitoring of levels as well as dry-run protection and overflow protection are cost-sensitive applications in the machine-building industry, a float switch is the ideal solution for many plants. The RLS-1000 reliably detects the level in vessels with water, oil, diesel or other liquids by means of a permanent magnet and frictionless reed contacts at max. 4 defined switch points and can be used in a medium temperature range from -30 to +150 °C [-22 to +302 °F].
The compact float switch is simple, convenient and fast to integrate, because it does not need to be calibrated or set during the installation. This greatly improves the ease of handling, especially in confined installation situations. Also, since its robust design makes it resistant to vibrations and shocks, maintenance costs are minimal.
The model RLS-3000 float switch with temperature output combines the recording of the level and temperature of liquids in a single measuring point. The stainless steel used is suitable for a multitude of media, such as, for example, oil, water, diesel and refrigerants.
Measuring principle
A permanent magnet built into the float triggers, with its magnetic field, the potential-free reed contacts built into the guide tube. The triggering of the reed contacts by the permanent magnet is contact-free and thus free from wear.
Depending on customer wishes, the switching functions of normally open, normally closed or change-over can be realised for the defined liquid level.
The additional temperature output enables the medium temperature to be monitored by means of a preconfigured bimetal temperature switch or a Pt100/Pt1000 resistance signal.
The model RLS-4000 float switch with optional temperature output has been designed for the recording of level and temperature at hazardous measuring points. The stainless steel used is suitable for a multitude of media, such as, for example, oil, diesel and refrigerants.

In addition to the various applications for float switches for vertical installation (model FLS), the model HLS horizontal float switches likewise offer innumerable possibilities to monitor and/or switch levels in order to indicate minimum/maximum levels. The float is attached to a supported, swivelling lever and moves with the level of the medium being measured. By means of a permanent magnet, fixed to the end of the lever, when a preset switch point is reached, a reed contact (inert gas contact) within the contact tube is actuated.
By using a permanent magnet and a reed contact the switching operation is non-contact, free from wear and needs no power supply. The functioning of the float switch is independent of foaming, conductivity, vapours, bubble formation and vibrations. The signal processing is universal. Direct connection to PLCs, NAMUR connections, signal amplifiers or contact protection relays is possible. The float switch is simple to mount and maintenance-free, so the costs of mounting, commissioning and operation are low.
The main element of the glass level gauge is the gauge body. Incorporated into this gauge body are the liquid channel (if necessary the heating channel) and the seating faces for the chambered seals and sight glasses.
Onto the gauge body are mounted, or are already integrated, the valve heads and process connections. Drain or vent are also possible.
The glasses and/or mica shields as well as the seals are fitted, secured and sealed with the aid of U-bolts and covers or pressure frames. Glasses from borosilicate glass in accordance with DIN 7081 are used.
For steam, the glasses can be used to 243 °C [469.4 °F], with mica design to 300 °C [572 °F]. For other media, temperatures to 300 °C are possible, in special cases to 374 °C [705.2 °F]. The use of mica is needed for specific applications.
The model FLR sensors with reed measuring chain are used for level measurement in liquid media. They work on the float principle with magnetic transmission. The float’s magnetic system in the guide tube actuates a resistance measuring chain that corresponds to a 3-wire potentiometer circuit. The measurement voltage generated by this is proportional to the fill level.
The measurement voltage is very finely-stepped due to the contact separation of the measuring chain and is thus virtually continuous. Depending on the requirements several different contact separations are available.
The model FLM-CM magnetostrictive level transmitter is used for the high-accuracy, continuous level detection of liquids in industrial applications and is based on determining the position of a magnetic float according to the magnetostrictive measurement principle.
The FLM-CM emits a 4 … 20 mA output signal, which is configured via a USB adapter and the electrical coupler connector. Probe lengths of 100 mm to 1 m and also various temperature and pressure ranges are possible.
