Safe-Gard, Technically advanced rupture disc with cross-scoring for increased safety

Description:

Safe-Gard is a forward acting rupture disc with precision cross-scoring on the vent side for enhanced safety in liquid, gas or vapour applications.

The single-membrane, domed rupture disc combines the versatility of conventional metal discs with the performance benefits of scored technology.

The range of sizes and options for opening or non-opening vacuum support make Safe-Gard suitable for use at very high pressures as a metal alternative to composite domed discs.

Features:
  • Precision scoring for increased safety
  • Stainless Steel as standard, with other materials available
  • Non-fragmenting, ideal for relieve valve isolation
  • Smooth surface finish
  • Optional fluoropolymer liner on the process and/or vacuum side
  • Additional vacuum support available for lower burst pressures
  • Manufactured to ISO4126 or ASME VIII (UD stamp available)
  • Use Safe-Gard in a forward disc holder and add Flo-Tel for non-invasive burst detection

Reverse buckling rupture disc for API ingredients.

The reverse buckling LoKr rupture disc for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturing plants and sanitary environments maximizes pressure relieving performance while providing superior reliability and extraordinary service life.

Description:

Delivering a best-in-class Flow Resistance Factor (FRF) or KR value, the LoKr is designed to improve process performance and efficiency. The highly engineered bursting disc design covers the majority of pressures in bioprocesses and enhances performance with the long-cycle life and tight tolerances of a reverse buckling rupture disc.

The disc’s architecture has been refined and optimized to offer full-bore opening with exceptionally accurate burst ratings. This supports operational efficiency, especially at low flow rates, and makes it easier to keep pressure drops across the relief line below 3%.

Features:
  • Kr value (Krgl): 0.22
  • Size: 1″-12″ (25mm – 300mm)
  • Burst Pressure: 10-2,500 psig (0.69-172.3 barg)
  • Temperature: < 900°F (< 482°C)
  • Operating Ratio: 95%
  • Performance Tolerance: +/-5%
  • Manufacturing Range 0%

Flo-Tel, sensor for practical, reusable solution for detecting when a rupture disc has functioned

Description:

Operating on a simple reed switch and magnet technology, the Flo-Tel sensor fits into a holder with a magnet on the rupture disc. When the rupture disc bursts, the magnet arcs away from the sensor, giving an open circuit signal.

Flo-Tel is non-invasive to the process and is therefore unaffected by downstream pressure fluctuations or corrosion. This feature also eliminates leak paths and the risk of false alarms associated with traditional membrane-type detection systems. After rupturing, the disc is the only element that needs replacing, which eliminates the need for expensive re-wiring costs and maintenance planning.

Available with a 2m, 5m or 10m cable, Flo-Tel is Suitable for process temperatures up to 300°C and offers a fail-safe detection system. Flo-Tel is ATEX approved to II 1G Ex ia IIC Ga and II 1D Ex ia IIIC Da IP66. It carries the EC – Type Examination Certificate ITSo3, ATEX 21698X. Please note that it must be connected to an intrinsically safe supply.

GraphiTech Monoblock, Our GraphiTech rupture discs are made of resin-impregnated graphite for use in highly corrosive processes.

Description:

The GraphiTech Monoblock graphite rupture discs require no holder and can be mounted directly between ANSI flanges. Where vacuum conditions may be present, we offer the disc with additional vacuum support in the form of either a bar or a dial (GTMV). Where the process conditions involve substances that may react with graphite, we can supply an inverted version of the disc (GTI). The process side of the GTI is flat, allowing the addition of a TFE grade fluoropolymer liner for enhanced corrosion protection.
